Unshakeable Standard Media Group Outweighs Pro-government threat.
A number of youths have submitted their discontentment letter to Standard Media Group terming its operations as promoting biased journalism, as their plea to storm the media house gets setbacks.
This comes just days after the pro-government youths, announced on social media that they will mobilize 5000 youths to storm Standard media group due to its conduct. Calling upon the the media company to announce what president william Ruto owe them.
A number of activist have also converged at the gate of the media house, mixing with the youths and distabililising their operations. The activist are defending standard media group for its conduct of criticizing the government and condemning ill-conducts of those in authority.
The activist leaders seen are from Vocal Africa and Free Kenya Movement who are standing for free journalistic activities across the country saying that free journalism musty be embraced and protected by all means and not allow political and personal interest to divert the truth as Kenyans do have a constitutional right to information.
‘According to our 2010 constitution, Kenyans have a right to information, politics and personal interest must not be allowed to influence media houses, truthful and factual information is a mandate and responsibility for journalism in this country.’ The activists said.
Standard media Group have recently taken a center stage in legislative assembly discussion as a number of the legislators call for its sabotage and closure for its conduct, as they argued that the media company does not cover or broadcast goodies that President Ruto and the government of the day does to its citizens, but focuses much on the negativity and broadcasts international movies while important occasions happen in the country like the launching of Dangote refinery in Lamu county by President William Ruto.
